Getting the Most From Your AEP Membership
AEP membership
offers many benefits for you as an individual and for your organization. Taking
advantage of them starts with having an AEP Web User Account, which is your online
connection to AEP and a virtual door to the benefits of membership. Opening
a Web User Account
Setting up a Web User account takes less than
five minutes. All you need to do is provide basic contact information and set

If you are an AEP member, please be sure to: - Check YES after “Are
You An AEP Member?”
- Then, use the drop-down menu to identify the
organization you are with. Non-members can also have Web User accounts, but their
access is restricted to registering for event or entering award programs.
Once
you have a Web User Account: - Create an Individual Profile and “Opt-In”
to AEP’s Individual Member Directory.
- Confirm/Select your email

How to Best Use your Web User Account
Networking
- Participate in Online Membership Directories - By creating
an Individual Profile and “opting-in” to the Individual Member Directory,
you make it easy for other members to find you.
- By participating in the
Member Companies Directory and “opting in,” you help advance the understanding
of your company to other members. (NOTE: Only the Key Contact
from a member organization can access this area).
Networking
– Searching the Online Membership Directories - You can
search both the Individual and Member Company Directories by a number of criteria
to find potential business partners or clients.
- You can view a full list
of all Companies and Individuals that have “opted in” to these Directories.
Showcase
Your Educational Products - The Online
Product Gallery provides you a unique forum in which to showcase your educational
products. All AEP members may submit their products to the Gallery free of charge.
Along with a color digital image of your product and a brief description, a Gallery
listing includes a variety of contact and product information. There’s simply
no reason not to post your products here.
Branding/Membership
Identification - You can download AEP
Membership Logos and use them to identify your organization as one that actively
participates and supports the educational publishing industry.
Advance
Your Media Outreach - AEP maintains a Media
List of contacts in the General, Education, and Trade Media to help you get
the word out about your products and services.
Learn/Participate
in AEP’s Committees - AEP’s
Committees (Government Relations, Summit, Technology, and Awards) work to
ensure member input and participation in specific areas of importance to the Association.
Members are welcome and encouraged to join these voluntary committees.

emails specific to events or programs offered by AEP members.

Press Releases: News releases highlighting significant events or achievements
shared with trade or general media.
- Government Relations Update:
Provides you with periodic updates on significant legislation and regulations
that impact the industry, primarily at the federal level.

see fit. Individual Member Directory The Individual
Member Directory is the place for networking with other AEP members.
You can fill out a Directory Profile by logging
in to your Web User Account and clicking on "Update Personal Info/Account
Preferences." Beyond basic contact information, you provide five key areas
that best describe the type of work you do, the types of products/services with
which you work, the markets you serve, and your membership objectives. These are
also the key criteria used for other AEP members to find you. NOTE:
In order to be included in the Directory, you must opt in by checking the box
on top of the page next to “Yes! I would like to publish my personal info
in the AEP Online Membership Directory. You may choose to opt
out of the Membership Directory at anytime by logging in to your account and unchecking
