MetaMetrics' Lexile Analyzer Tops 100,000 Registered Users
MetaMetrics®, developer of the widely adopted Lexile Framework for Reading®, is pleased to announce that more than 100,000 educators and other individuals have registered to use its free Lexile Analyzer® to determine the Lexile measure of various classroom and personal texts. Lexile measures evaluate how complex a text will likely be for a reader to comprehend so that the reader can be matched with texts that best complement his or her unique ability level and reading goals. In the past two years alone, users have analyzed nearly one million text files.

Texas Instruments Teachers Teaching with Technology
Mathematics and science educators and administrators from around the world will convene the 24th Annual T3 International Conference, March 2-4. Attendees will learn, energize and connect as they explore the latest TI education technology and learn new ideas for the technology they have in their classroom. During the hundreds of hands-on sessions presenters will offer innovative and effective ways to engage students and help them learn. Vernier Kicks Off Its Free 2012 STEM Workshop Series with 30 Opportunities to Engage Educators in Hands-On Learning

MetaMetrics and IIBC Helping TOEIC Test Takers in Japan Strengthen English Reading Skills
MetaMetrics® has partnered with the Institute for International Business Communication (IIBC) to offer two Lexile®-based resources as part of IIBC's renewed free-membership website, TOEIC® Internet Services. Capstone Donates 50,000 Children's Books to Books for Africa
Capstone, a leading publisher of children's books and digital products and services, announces a donation of 50,000 books to Books for Africa, the largest shipper of donated text and library books to the African continent. This is Capstone's fourth major donation to Books for Africa in the last few years. Scholastic Acquires Learners Publishing – An English Language Learning Supplemental Publisher in Singapore
Scholastic, the global children’s publishing, education, and media company, announced today that through its Singapore subsidiary, Scholastic Education International (Singapore) Private Ltd., it has acquired Learners Publishing, a Singapore-based publisher of supplemental learning materials for English Language Learners. Since its launch in 2000, Learners Publishing has produced a list of more than 400 titles, many of which have been adopted by schools in Singapore and regional Asian markets for their quality content in the area of language acquisition. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
