AEP seeks input from educators about the challenges of the digital classroom

Logan Twp., NJ—March 3, 2010—Thanks to the ever-quickening pace of technological development, educators in the 21st Century classroom are facing much different challenges than they did ten--or even just five--years ago. Likewise, keeping up with their needs and developing products to meet them has become an increasingly difficult feat for those in the educational resource community.

That's why the Association of Educational Publishers (AEP) is teaming up with edWeb.net to present the Teacher Video Challenge: Classrooms in the Digital Age. The project aims to collect thoughts and opinions on digital resources and classroom technology from educators across the country and bring them directly to those companies and organizations responsible for developing these learning tools. Twenty videos will be highlighted as part of AEP's Content in Context Conference in June, and all submissions will be compiled and showcased on both the edWeb community and AEP's YouTube channel.

AEP is asking industry members with direct outreach to educators to help spread the word about the project by placing badges on their websites and promoting it in their teacher newsletters.

"The larger the net we cast, the more ideas and opinions we can collect, and thus the more valuable the end product will be," said AEP's CEO Charlene Gaynor. "By helping us spread the word about this project, education companies are ultimately helping themselves."

Organizations can download the Teacher Video Challenge badge by visiting the project website.
