New online product gallery offers educational
publishers unique forum to showcase products
LOGAN TWP., NJ--JANUARY 8, 2008--In
the burgeoning online marketplace, any
opportunity to increase product visibility is desirable. The debut
of the
Association of Educational Publishers' (AEP) Online Products Gallery
provides a forum to do just that. A free, easy to navigate, and
searchable
database, the Gallery is an ideal medium for publishers of educational
materials to showcase their products on the Web. The Gallery is
open to the
public and features products from both AEP members and companies
who have
entered the Distinguished Achievement and Golden Lamp categories
of the AEP
Awards, the preeminent awards program for supplemental educational
publishers.
Accessible to anyone who visits the AEP Web site, the Gallery
targets a
broad audience that includes teachers, administrators, school board
officials, peer companies, and international publishers interested
in rights
exchange.
"There is such a wide range of supplemental materials available,
anything we
can do to make it easier to highlight the best products for anyone
with a
stake in educational publishing is beneficial," AEP CEO Charlene
Gaynor said.
The Gallery features detailed product information including audience,
artwork, and a link to the publisher's Web site. Members can post
as many
products as they desire. Non-members are only able to upload information
on
programs entered in the awards.
"There were two key areas we wished to address when creating
the Gallery,"
Gaynor said. "We wanted to provide international publishers
a way to view
stand-out American products, and to allow educators a medium to
better sift
through the sea of materials available to them."
A convenient aspect of the Gallery is the ability to search any
participating entry by name, company, product type, subject, and
audience.
Additionally, companies can easily link to the Online Product Gallery
from
their own Web sites by downloading a pre-designed button.
Companies interested in entering their products in the Online
Product
Gallery may do so by creating or logging into their AEP Web user
account or
by entering the Golden Lamp or Distinguished Achievement Awards.
