NSSEA Signs on to Government Relations Partnership
with AEP
Logan Township, NJ – January
3, 2007– In an effort to increase the ability to monitor and
communicate to the membership government policies, legislative/regulatory
issues, and funding opportunities that impact the education marketplace,
the NSSEA Board of Directors recently approved a formal government
relations partnership with The Association of Educational Publishers
(AEP).
The new partnership is an expansion of the existing
relationship between AEP and NSSEA. Both organizations have a similar
stake in the developing federal education policy and believe their
members need a better understanding of how they can contribute to
shaping that policy. As part of the partnership, NSSEA will once
again sponsor the Legislative Day held in conjunction with the AEP
Summit in Washington, DC in June 2007.
“NSSEA is an important participant in our country’s
educational system, and the organization looks forward to this partnership
with AEP to advocate our positions and assist with shaping and improving
education and the economic markets that serve education,”
said NSSEA Legislative Chair Bill Singhaus.
“We value this partnership with the NSSEA. By
standing together, both organizations can have a stronger voice
in shaping the issues that are important to our industry,”
added Charlene Gaynor, CEO of AEP.
