Jo-Ann MCDevitt Joins AEP as VP of Sales, Marketing, and Business Development

Addition marks crucial step in organizational restructuring

Logan Twp., NJ--June 18, 2008--The Association of Educational Publishers (AEP), the national, nonprofit association for educational publishers and service providers, recently named Jo-Ann McDevitt to the newly created position of Vice President of Sales, Marketing, and Business Development. In this role McDevitt will focus on strategic partnerships and marketing programs designed to build upon AEP's position as the leading professional association for the educational publishing industry.

Jo-Ann's career in educational publishing spans 25 years in K-12 supplemental book and trade magazine businesses, including nearly a decade of service on AEP's Board of Directors and a term as president of the association. McDevitt was previously publisher of Technology & Learning magazine and its award-winning website and events: techLEARNING.com and Tech Forum, respectively. Prior to this she was a classroom teacher, an administrator, and a lecturer in the Rosemont College Education Department. She was also the director of the Creative Computer Learning Center, where she published and marketed computer programs for teachers and students.

"We are thrilled to welcome Jo-Ann to our team," said Charlene Gaynor, CEO of AEP. "Her longtime service to AEP and her notoriety throughout the industry make her a perfect fit for this new position. We couldn't have asked for a better candidate."

McDevitt's addition at AEP marks a crucial step in a restructuring process that began in January of 2008 with the creation of the position Vice President of Operations. Filled by AEP's former Programs Manager Doug Ferguson, this position oversees the day-to-day activities of the association, including human resource management and facilities management. Operating directly under McDevitt will be Dave Gladney in the new position of Marketing Manager and Stacey Pusey in the new role of Content Manager. Mike Corwin will continue in the expanded role of Director of Membership and Marketing Services.

"Over the past decade I've watched AEP do a phenomenal job of serving an industry I've been a part of for a long time," said McDevitt. "I think now it's on the cusp of becoming something even greater, and I'm excited and honored to be given the opportunity to contribute to that growth."
