Gaynor
Now Chief Executive Officer of the Association of Educational PublishersTitle
change more accurately reflects role and responsibilities with AEP Logan
Township, NJ – January 9, 2006 – The Board of Directors of
the Association of Educational Publishers (AEP) recently approved a title change
for Charlene F. Gaynor from Executive Director to Chief Executive Officer (CEO).
The change, which was formally implemented on January 1, 2006, better reflects
the role that she serves with the organization. “AEP
is solidly focused on building the industry,” said Keith Garton, AEP President.
“This change of title more clearly reflects the organization’s business-oriented
focus. It also accurately represents the role Charlene has played since joining
AEP in 1997.” AEP has enjoyed tremendous growth and
change under Gaynor’s leadership. Increased programs and activities have
driven membership to an all-time high. Most notably, AEP has taken a leadership
role in opening international markets to supplemental publishers. The organization’s
government relations program on behalf of the industry, launched in 2004, has
increased awareness at the federal level of the essential role played by supplemental
materials in addressing the full range of learning styles and needs. The
Association of Educational Publishers (AEP), founded in 1895, is a national, nonprofit
association devoted to serving and advancing the supplemental educational publishing
industry. Its membership represents the many facets of the educational publishing
community including publishers, service providers, nonprofit associations, schools,
researchers, and freelance contributors. With the rapid growth of new educational
technologies, AEP members are at the forefront of delivering progressive, educational
products and services that address individual learning needs and differences.
