Educational Publishing Summit
|
Publishing's fast-growing event, the AEP Summit is held each
year in Washington, DC. The Summit is the only annual event that
caters exclusively to the diverse members of the education
publishing community. With general sessions that address key issues
in education and breakout sessions that offer individualized professional
development, the AEP Summit offers a unique learning environment
that benefits professionals from all facets of the industry. Additionally,
the event’s
luncheons, dinners, coffee breaks, and cocktail receptions offer
attendees ample and invaluable opportunities for networking.
Who attends the Summit?
The Summit attracts people from all levels and sectors of
the education publishing industry, including CEOs, managers, editors,
designers, marketers, printers, content developers, and other service
providers. In 2007, the Educational Publishing Summit drew over 400
total attendees and featured 35 exhibit tables.
2007 Summit Highlights
- Theme - “Focus Forward - Publishing at the Speed of Change”
- Four Key Areas of Focus - The Business of Publishing, Curriculum,
Educational Technology, and Schoolhouse Demographics
- Keynote Speakers - Hank Wasiak and Kathy Cramer, authors of
the book Change the Way You See Everything
- Exhibit Hall - 35 service providers including
editorial, production, publishing, printing, and marketing solutions.
The 2007 Exhibit Hall also featured the "Intervention Convention," a
spotlight on technologies and services for converting instructional
materials from print to specialized formats.
- Beacon Awards Luncheon - The Beacon Awards honor the most creative
and effective products and campaigns in the field of education
marketing.
- Annual Awards & Banquet & Gala - At this black-tie optional
event, AEP honors the year’s best products in teaching
and learning.
