Go Global is a program designed to help educational publishers expand their businesses through the marketing and sales of intellectual property rights internationally. An outgrowth of a previous successful international publishing partnership with the Bologna Children’s Book Fair, AEP’s newest venture expands the international business potential for its members to the largest book fairs in the world. Go Global contains three specific initiatives for 2007: The Educational Publishing Pavilion at Frankfurt Book Fair, the International Children's Publishing Exhibit at Beijing International Book Fair, and the China Business Development Tour. Educational Publishing PavilionThe Educational Publishing Pavilion (EPP) is located in Hall 4.2 at the Frankfurt Book Fair. Exhibitors at the EPP benefit from an all-inclusive exhibit package, which provides everything from a fully outfitted exhibit space complete with Internet access to onsite translators and an appointment service, courtesy of the U.S. Commercial Service. There is also a full schedule of programming that features a pre-fair orientation session, meetings with international CEOs, and two networking receptions. Click here for more information on the EPP. Quick facts about the Frankfurt Book Fair: In 2005, around 285,000 visitors from all over the world came to view the collections shown by 7,225 exhibitors and 70 national and collective exhibitors from 101 countries, featuring more than 380,000 titles alongside book-related products and services. International Children's Publishing ExhibitNow boasting more than 200,000 attendees at its annual gathering, the Beijing International Book Fair has entered a partnership with AEP and the American Collective Stand to offer the International Children's Publishing Exhibit (ICPE). Through this innovative partnership, educational products can be exhibited as part of a collective exhibit whether or not they are accompanied by a publisher. For a nominal fee, ICPE representatives will show the products and collect business cards and sales leads for publishers. Click here for more information on the ICPE. Quick facts about the BIBF: The number of international publishers/exhibitors at the fair doubled from 2004 to 2005, and more than 9,000 copyright transactions were conducted at Beijing last year. China Business Development TourEscorted by Robert Baensch, author of "The Publishing Industry in China," this ten-day tour includes school visits, meetings with Chinese publishers and booksellers, government officials, university faculty and press, and publishing import/export experts, as well as visits to historic sites and the Beijing Book Fair.
