Finalists announced for educational publishing's
most renowned awards program
Winners to be announced at AEP's annual Awards
Banquet & Gala
in June
LOGAN TWP., NJ--APRIL 18, 2007--The Association of Educational
Publishers (AEP), the national non-profit association for developers
of educational content, is pleased to announce the finalists for
the 2007 AEP Awards Program. The program's Distinguished
Achievement and Golden Lamp Awards recognize the year's most outstanding
materials in the field of teaching and learning, and the Beacon
Awards honor the most creative and effective products and campaigns
in the field of education marketing. AEP Award winners earn the
right to display the Lamp of Learning seal, nationally recognized
by educators and administrators as a mark of outstanding quality
and achievement.
"I am impressed every year by the passion and creative energy
with which our industry approaches its work, but on this, the fortieth
anniversary of our awards program, this innovative spirit is more
evident and alive than ever," said Charlene Gaynor, the association's
CEO.
The AEP Awards program consists of three distinct segments. The
first is the Beacon Awards for excellence in education
marketing. The Beacons recognize the top products in nine distinct
marketing categories. From among the category winners, one particularly
exceptional product is rewarded with the Gold Beacon, the highest
achievement in education marketing. Beacon winners will be announced
at the Beacon Luncheon, to be held June 12 at the Renaissance Hotel
in Washington, D.C. To view a complete list of the Beacon finalists,
please visit www.AEPweb.org/awards/beaconwin.htm
The Distinguished Achievement Awards (DAAs),
honor the top products within the categories of Curriculum, Periodicals,
and Professional Development. The DAAs are evaluated on traits
such as efficacy, usability, and overall educational value and
judged by an expert panel of educators, editors, designers, and
technology specialists. Winners of these awards will be announced
at the annual Awards Banquet & Gala, held June 12 at the Renaissance
Hotel in Washington, D.C. For a complete list of DAA finalists,
please visit www.AEPweb.org/awards/winners.htm.
The coveted Golden Lamp Awards are considered
the most prestigious of the AEP Awards, honoring the "best
of the best" in educational publishing. Golden Lamp finalists
are defined by their superior use of content, design, and fulfillment
of a product's educational mission. The four Golden Lamp winners
will also be announced June 12 at the Awards Banquet & Gala.
