AEP Announces Finalists in the 2002 Distinguished Marketer Awards

May 2002

LOGAN TOWNSHIP, NJ—The Association of Educational Publishers (AEP) today announced the finalists for the 2002 Distinguished Marketer Awards, which are sponsored by Market Data Retrieval (MDR), the leading U.S. supplier of education market information, and National School Supply and Equipment Association (NSSEA), a trade association of more than 1,500 member companies serving the school market.

“This year’s entries represented a wide spectrum of school marketing materials,” said Adrienne Watts, vice president of marketing for NSSEA. “The winners and finalists truly represent some of the finest work in the field and will serve as a benchmark to others in the school market.”

Open to members and non-members of AEP, entries compete in seven individual categories—Brochures, Catalogs, Direct Mail, Display Ads, Integrated Campaigns, Media Kits, and Web Sites—the Marketing Master is chosen from the best of all entries.

"We are pleased to be a sponsor of the Distinguished Marketer Awards Program, the only awards program that recognizes excellence in education marketing," said Mike Subrizi, director of marketing for Market Data Retrieval. "These prestigious awards allow education marketers the opportunity to showcase their products while being acknowledged for their outstanding accomplishments."

The final judging panel is drawn from a national pool of educators; writing, publishing, and design experts; and marketing professionals. Judges may pick up to four finalists per category, including the winner, but can choose less if warranted. In some categories, no finalists are selected.

Winners will be announced Wednesday, June 5 at the Distinguished Marketer Luncheon held at The Capital Hilton in Washington, DC.
