High-Stakes Testing Spurring New Market in Security Auditing

The No Child Left Behind Act has placed an enormous amount of importance on assessment testing, and instances of fraud are on the rise because of it.

"Whenever there are high stakes, there's a reason to cheat," said Don Sorenson of Caveon, Inc., in a recent eSchool News article.  Caveon is a security firm that provides services to guard against cheating on high-stakes testing.

While such security services--such as extensive interviews with administrators and in-depth data forensics--are put in place to detect instances of fraud that may have already taken place, many states view them more as a deterrent to would-be cheaters.
