Pearson Assessments
Pearson Assessments announced the launch of the iNSIGHT(tm) 150
line of scanners, which will allow schools, businesses and other
organizations to capture data and images from forms more rapidly
than ever before. The technologies used in the iNSIGHT 150 system
help ensure the accuracy of scanned information with minimal effort.
Northwest Evaluation Association
Evaluation and Testing in University of Oklahoma Outreach has
partnered with Northwest Evaluation Association to bring an unprecedented
level of assessment for standardized tests taken by state K-12
students. The Measures of Academic Progress, or MAP tests, are
computerized adaptive tests that measure individual student growth
over time and across grade levels.

PLATO Learning, Inc. (NASDAQ: TUTR) announced that Robert Peterkin,
director of the Urban Superintendents Program and Francis Keppel
Professor on Educational Policy and Administration at the Harvard
Graduate School of Education has been elected to its Board of Directors.
Discovery Education
Discovery Education's COSMEO, the most comprehensive online homework
help service for K-12 students, makes it easy for students and
their parents to do homework, study for a test, or start a school
project. Coming soon, users will find content that directly matches
topics covered in the most widely-used math and science textbooks,
and later this fall, social studies textbooks.
Discovery Education and Bally Total Fitness announced today a
new partnership to distribute COSMEO, the new comprehensive educational
and homework help Web site from Discovery, to Bally customers.
The promotion will be available to all Bally Fitness Center members
and run nationwide from Friday, Sept. 15 through Oct. 31.

to the newly created position of President and Chief Operating
