This summer, Highlights for Children celebrates its 60th anniversary and the printing of its One Billionth Copy of Highlights magazine.

Discovery Education
Discovery Education announced that it has completed a deal with software company Academy123 that brings the company into the family of Discovery Education businesses. This new arrangement expands Discovery Education's content and technical capabilities in allowing it to utilize Academy123's skills in the development and distribution of interactive educational content for schools and homes.

Discovery Education has also announced that it is joining forces with Sears for a national retail promotional campaign. This new effort allows Sears' shoppers to enroll in a special free three-month subscription to COSMEO, Discovery Education's new online homework help tool, after making a purchase at any Sears store between July 16 and September 4, 2006.

BrainPOP
What is the real purpose of a blog, and where did this phenomenon come from? BrainPOP's inquisitive and witty characters, Tim and Moby, will answer these questions and explore the world of 'blogs' in a new movie launching at the end of October. The movie will be available for free at launch, but users may register for a Free 14-Day Trial at any time by visiting http://www.brainpop.com.

Voyager Expanded Learning
Voyager Expanded Learning announced that The Honorable Robert H. Pasternack, Ph.D., former U.S. Assistant Secretary for the Office of Special Education and Rehabilitative Services, will join the company as the Senior Vice President for Special Education, reporting to Ron Klausner, President of ProQuest Education.
