Free Online Journal From Pearson Assessments Translates Research

Assessments today launched the second year of "Evidence-Based
Practice (EBP) Briefs," a free online journal for speech and
language professionals. Edited by Laura Justice, Ph.D., "EBP
Briefs" is a peer-reviewed journal with articles written to
help practicing clinicians translate research into practice in
their daily activities.
Upcoming Presentation to Demonstrate How Weekly Reader Magazines
Have Been Proven Scientifically Effective - 4/30/07
A study proving
that student exposure to Weekly Reader magazines significantly
boosts learning in the classroom will be presented on May 14, 2007,
at the annual International Reading Association (IRA) conference
in Toronto. The Michael Cohen Group LLC, which conducted the research,
will present "An Evaluation of the
Effectiveness of Nonfiction Supplementary Materials: Kids and Nonfiction
Magazines - Evaluating the Impact of Supplemental Materials in
the Elementary Classroom."

State of Washington Professional Educator Standards Board Selects
National Evaluation Systems - 4/18/07
National Evaluation Systems(tm)
(NES), the teacher licensure testing business of Pearson Education,
announced today that the State of Washington Professional Educator
Standards Board (PESB) has awarded the company the contract to
develop and manage the Washington Educator Skills Tests-Endorsements

Assessments today announced that The Bridge of Vocabulary, the

and special educators, is a finalist in two categories of the Association
of Educational Publishers (AEP) 2007 Distinguished Achievement
