Business-to-Business Publisher Acquires FETCBusiness publisher 1105 Media announced last week its acquisition of the Florida Educational Technology Corp., long-time producer of the annual Florida Educational Technology Conference (FETC). According to an eSchool News report, 1105 Media hopes to grow its live-events business while using its resources to expand the reach of FETC nationally. However, some ed-tech advocates are skeptical of the deal, expressing concern over the idea of a business-centric company assuming control over a traditionally vendor-agnostic event.
