Bain Capital Partners Acquires School Specialty
According to Whitestone Communications, Bain Capital Partners
announced that it plans to buy School Specialty Publishing for
a reported $1.5 billion. The deal accounted for 93% of the
quarter's $1.9 billion in education/reference acquisition volume.
Announced on June 2, the deal is expected to close by the end
of October. David Vander Zanden, president/CEO of School Specialty,
is expected to retain his position.
In other news, WRC Media sold key asset American Guidance Service
(AGS) to Pearson Education.
