Paige: NoChild Left Behind Debate is Over

In his recent back-to-school speech at the National Press Club, Education Secretary Rod Paige claimed that debate about the No Child Left Behind act is over, implying that the questions surrounding the centerpiece of President Bush's domestic agenda have been answered and its effectiveness proven.  However, Robert Borosage, co-director of the liberal advocacy group Campaign for America's Future, had a different opinion.  In a recent CNN article, Borosage called Paige's declaration "a wide divorce from reality," countering that the law demands enormous progress without providing enough money or cooperation from Washington.
