New Bill Calls for Head Start to Align to State Standards
The U.S. House of representatives recently approved a bill to
renew the Head Start early childhood education program. In
an effort to increase competition, accountabiity, and oversight
of head Start providers, H.R. 2123, drafted by Rep. Mike Castle
(R - DE), calls for programs to align student readiness goals with
their state's K-12 academic standards.
