President Bush Nominates New Deputy Secretary of Education

Last week President Bush nominated Raymond Simon as U.S. Deputy Secretary of Education.  Simon has served as assistant secretary for elementary and secondary education since 2003.  Prior to this position, he was the director of the Arkansas Department of Education.

"Ray will have a critical role on my team as we continue to work closely with states and meet the goals of No Child Left Behind,” said Secretary Margaret Spellings.
