President Bush Nominates New Deputy Secretary of Education
Last week President Bush nominated Raymond Simon as U.S. Deputy
Secretary of Education. Simon has served as assistant secretary
for elementary and secondary education since 2003. Prior
to this position, he was the director of the Arkansas Department
of Education.
"Ray will have a critical role on my team as we continue
to work closely with states and meet the goals of No Child Left
Behind,” said Secretary Margaret Spellings.
