Kathleen
M. Hurley

Kathy
Hurley is a more than 30-year veteran of the education industry.
She is currently SVP Strategic Partnerships for Pearson
and was previously Vice President Education Industry Affairs
for PLATO Learning Inc. Prior to PLATO Learning's acquisition
of NetSchools Corporation, Ms. Hurley served as the Senior
Vice President for NetSchools, where her responsibilities
included overseeing the Marketing and Business Development
departments of the company.
Ms.
Hurley has also served as Senior Vice President of Education
Marketing for The Learning Company and Senior Vice President
of Skillsbank Corporation (now Achievement Technologies).
Ms. Hurley has also held important positions with IBM, Mindscape,
Grolier and DLM.
She
currently serves on several key industry and education advisory
boards, including, the National School Boards Foundation
(NSBF), the Software and Information Industry Association
Education Division (SIIA) and the International Society
for Technology in Education (ISTE). She is also past president
of the Association of Educational Publishers and was a longtime
member of their Board of Directors.
Ms.
Hurley began her career in education working with learning
disabled students, after receiving her Masters degree at
Jersey City State College. To this day, she continues to
support her undergraduate institution, the University of
Dayton, by serving on the Advisory Board for the School
of Education.
