The Copyright Infringement Portal is a simple solution that will help publishers take a stand against this age-old, yet growing, problem. An anti-piracy service developed by and for the industry, the Portal automates the process of issuing takedown notices for both copyrights and territorial rights on offending sites. The service also tracks reported violations so that sites with multiple offenses can be flagged and served with further legal attention.

Online copyright violations can range from websites offering illegal downloads of protected works, peer-to-peer file sharing, and password bootlegging, to the commercial sale of counterfeit copies of publications. While there are more and more tools to help you find infringement, do you have the resources--time, money, manpower--to issue a legal takedown notice every time?

This service is available to AEP members only. A portion of the subscription fee will go towards supporting AEP's Government Relations program.

Benefits

  • Easy and efficient method for generating and issuing take-down notices
Rather than each publisher correctly identifying the relevant internet service provider, drafting an appropriate legal notice, and issuing this to the correct address, the Portal does each of these steps automatically.

  • Simple interface for monitoring responses to take-down notices
A quick glance will let you know whether the take-down has been achieved. A user-friendly 'traffic light' system of green, amber, and red icons is used throughout the Portal.

  • Centralized place to share information about infringements, take-down requests, and responses
The Portal offers real-time intelligence to its users which can enable a very rapid industry-wide response to piracy. The Portal collates intelligence information to inform an array of industry responses including licensing, litigation, and lobbying.
