How it Works

Currently, the PA's Copyright Infringement Portal targets websites offering infringing copies for free download. (If you are unsure where to look for violations, a good place to start is with the other sites where publishers have served Notices.)

When a Subscriber finds a violation, they simply log into their account, and enter the title(s) and URL(s) of the infringing copies. The Portal identifies the ISP and drafts the appropriate Notice. The Subscriber reviews and signs the notice, and, at the click of a mouse, it is sent by email.

If the Portal finds that another user has served notice on the same site previously, it will identify the operator as a repeat infringer and your notice will ask the ISP to follow its policy, which could mean termination of the account.

AEP members may view a demo and read the FAQ by visiting the AEP Portal.
