Judging Process
Judging panels are drawn from a national pool of writing, publishing, and design experts in print and technology; education editors; educators; and curriculum experts. The first tier of screening judges conducts an objective evaluation of all entries. Selected entries proceed to the final judging certifying committee that reviews and certifies all winners and finalists in each category. You may enter in both the Golden Lamp and Distinguished Achievement Awards programs.

Notification
Finalists and non-finalists in all categories are notified via mail and email in April 2008. Notification is sent to the contact name specified on the entry form.

Ceremonies
Winners in each category will be announced at the AEP Awards Banquet and Gala scheduled for Friday, June 6, 2008, in Washington, DC. Those unable to attend the banquet will be sent their awards.

Recognition

Finalists receive a handsome certificate, winners receive a framed certificate, and Golden Lamp winners receive an engraved plaque to recognize their achievement. Additional certificates, plaques, and other ancillary products are available for purchase. Winners and finalists are encouraged to display the AEP Lamp of Learning logo on their publications, websites, and other materials. AEP will publicize all finalists and winners on its Web site and send press releases to national newspapers and the education press.
