Distinguished Achievement Awards

The Distinguished Achievement Awards (DAAs) recognize the year's top educational products in four categories:

  • Curriculum
  • Periodicals
  • Professional Development
  • Technology & New Media

Within these four categories, entries are broken down into further subcategories, as well as categorized by grade level. You can view the subcategories below or view the full descriptions here.

Judging
DAA entries are judged only against other products in their entry category, subcategory, and grade level. This means that middle school Arts curricula are only judged against other middle school Arts curricula, high school news stories are only judged against other high school news stories, and so on. Find out more about judging.

Finalists and Winners
DAA Finalists and Winners are announced in a press release when the judging process is completed in April. At this point, product and company names will be posted in the Awards section of the AEP website and receive special designation in the Online Product Gallery. Winners are announced at the AEP Awards Banquet & Gala in June in Washington, DC.

Entry Fees*

AEP members - $130
Nonmembers - $250

* Entries submitted after midnight EST on Jan. 31 or postmarked after Jan. 31 will be assessed a $25 late processing fee for each entry.
