Kevin is passionate about building teams that create breakthrough software for kids.  He led his team at Think Through Math to win the SIIA CODiE Award for Best Math Instructional Solution, add two million paid subscribers and grow at a 36% Compound Annual Growth Rate.  This summer he was named Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year for his region. Prior to Think Through Math, he led Triumph Learning’s growth from $15MM to $86MM in sales and $3MM to $25MM in cash flow. Kevin successfully grew two other ed companies and he helped shape The Walt Disney Company’s global education strategy. Kevin actively gives back to K-12 education and he is a graduate of Harvard College and Columbia Business School.

Edward McCoyd is an attorney and Executive Director for Digital, Environmental & Accessibility Affairs at the Association of American Publishers (AAP). He works with and advocates on behalf of educational, trade, and professional and scholarly publishing companies on issues involving digital technologies and publications, prevention of online infringement of publishers’ products, accessibility of books and other materials to individuals with disabilities, and environmental impacts associated with book paper and manufacturing. Ed has lectured at Continuing Legal Education seminars including for the Copyright Society of the USA, the Practising Law Institute, and the Suffolk County Bar Association, and has served as a speaker at numerous publishing industry events. Ed was previously employed as Director of Legal Services at the Authors Guild, providing licensing and copyright advice to published writers.

Ross has been active in publishing for more than three decades and has worked in every aspect of the industry, including editorial, product development and acquisition, strategic marketing, and sales. He has held executive management positions at several publishing companies prior to joining Encyclopaedia Britannica in 2002.

Ross has contributed to several industry publications, including Britannica’s own blog site. His book Publishing Without Borders: Strategies for Successful International Publishing was published in 2003, and Publishing Without Boundaries: How to Think, Work, and Win in The Global Marketplace in 2007. He speaks often at international conferences on electronic publishing and was inducted into Printmedia’s Production Executives’ Hall of Fame in 2002. A former AEP board member, he served as president from 2002-2003. In December 2009 he was inducted into the Educational Publishing Hall of Fame.

Ross holds a B.A. (summa cum laude) from the University of Minnesota, an M.A. from Brandeis University, and a certificate from Stanford University in Advanced Management.

Dana Truby is the Director of Social Media for WeAreTeachers and MDR.  In one year with WeAreTeachers, she grew the Facebook channel by over 950% and established successful WeAreTeachers channels on Tumblr and Buzzfeed. She launched the WeAreParents brand which now has 50,000 Facebook fans . In addition to WeAreTeachers,  Dana and the MDR team handle social media campaigns  for major education and non-profit campaigns such as UNICEF Trick-or-Treat, NFPA Fire Prevention, No Kid Hungry, and the Presidential Youth Fitness Program. Previously, Dana spent 10 years at Scholastic where she was the Editorial Director for Professional Media.

Linda Winter is the founder and president of the Winter Group, a Denver-based marketing communications and research firm. Established in 1978, Winter Group serves companies in the K-12, higher education and library sectors. Winter Group’s portfolio includes work for the College Board, NWEA, Epson, Math Solutions, ABC-CLIO, THIRTEEN/WNET, Britannica Digital Learning, PBS Educational Media, Knowledge Delivery Systems, and other education organizations. Winter Group’s staff includes writers, designers, developers, project leaders, researchers, media buyers, and account planners. The firm’s services include market research, branding/messaging, advertising, direct marketing, digital development and design, exhibit design, and sales support program development.

Linda received her undergraduate degree from Northwestern University and her graduate degree from the University of Denver. She is a frequent speaker and panelist at national education market conferences.
