Congratulations to the 2014 DAA Winners!

The Distinguished Achievement Awards:
Recognizing exceptional resources used by teachers, parents, and learners of all ages

The Distinguished Achievement Awards (DAAs) give entrants the opportunity to compete within a wide range of subcategories covering a large variety of product types and subject areas. Eligible entries include resources for learners of any age as well as professional development materials to help teachers teach.

DAA Categories

  • Whole Curriculum Programs - Materials used as the main instructional tool in a subject area that include clear learning objectives and/or standards alignment, guides for teachers, leaners, and assessments, and resource materials.
  • Supplemental Resources - Materials that support the main curriculum in a particular subject. Include learner content, some form of teacher guide or instructions, and clear learning objectives. May also include, if available, standards alignment, assessment materials, and other applicable resources.
  • Periodicals - All educational magazines, whether print-, web-, or tablet-based, are encouraged to enter. This includes magazines used at home and other informal learning environments as well as in the classroom. Educational publications geared toward teachers, administrators, and parents are also welcome, as are publications that cover education as a whole.
  • Professional Development - This category includes all resources used to train and support educators and administrators in their careers.

Special note: Age divisions are included in the Periodical category!

We’re pleased to reintroduce these four age divisions for the Periodicals category: Grades PreK-2, Grades 3-6, Grades 7-12, and Adult.

The Periodical of the Year Award has returned

The Periodical of the Year award is given to an outstanding periodical selected from each of the age divisions.

Within each category is an exclusive set of subcategories that are subject or topic-specific. Products entered into these subcategories compete only against each other, with one product from each subcategory earning the title of winner.
