I can’t think of a better way to attend the Frankfurt Book Fair, especially as a first-timer, than with AEP. From facilitating appointments to finding wonderful accommodations, AEP smoothes the way...but the substance of AEP’s contribution goes much deeper than that. Their forums and speakers provide current insight to international issues all publishers face.

~ Janet Corson, Eaglemont

The Educational Publishing Pavilion at Frankfurt

Designed to help small- to mid-size educational publishers and service providers navigate the world's largest international publishing event, the Educational Publishing Pavilion (EPP) is a fair within the Frankfurt Book Fair, offering participants turnkey services including exhibit space, logistic support, and shipping and lodging assistance.

The partnership also leverages the Department of Commerce's worldwide network of international trade specialists to find quality prospects that match your stated objectives. Through this personalized appointment service, participating U.S. companies walk into the fair completely scheduled with potential international partners.

I did a lot of research on my own, but being a part of the EPP
helped to ensure success. They helped connect me to people interested in
both distributing and translating our books. Additionally, by having many
educational publishers in the same area, it was a nice place to network with
people who had similar goals in mind. I plan to attend the Frankfurt Book
Fair with the EPP again in 2009.

From Publishing Without Boundaries: How to Think, Work, and Win in the Global Marketplace, by Michael Ross

The Frankfurt Book Fair...is by far the biggest, the most talked about, and the one fair that continues to grow year after year...Most publishers think about the annual book-fair cycle as beginning with Frankfurt, even though it takes place in the fourth quarter of the calendar year. Big titles get their international debut at Frankfurt, and many of the more substantial deals are sealed or announced at the fair...For all practical purposes, the new publishing year begins with this fair, and publishers finalize their spring lists at this time.
