EPIC Organizations

EPIC (Educational Publishing Inter-Industry Council) was founded by three non-profit associations that support and advance the educational publishing industry: AEP, AAP, and SIIA.

The Association of Educational Publishers (AEP) is the professional association for publishers of supplemental educational materials. Its membership represents the breadth of educational content developers and service providers delivering progressive products in both print and electronic formats to today's schools and colleges. Founded in 1895, AEP now assists its members in navigating the global realities of publishing in the 21st century through its professional development programming, government relations efforts, and opportunities for collaboration and partnership.

The Association of American Publishers' School Division is the national voice of the U.S. preK-12 school publishing industry. Members of the AAP School Division develop educational materials, technology-based curricula and assessments that help students, teachers, and schools succeed. AAP members include both large and small publishers, testing companies and a host of non-profit associations, manufacturers and vendors.

The AAP School Division works to foster a fair, competitive and robust market for all educational publishers, including those that develop core instructional content, supplemental materials and technology products. The AAP School Division consistently achieves significant increases in public funding for instructional materials. AAP's recent legislative successes in Florida, California, Texas, New York and many other states create new opportunities for large and small publishers alike. No other organization works to support the school publishing industry in this way.

SIIA's Education Division serves and represents over 150 member companies that provide software, digital content and other technologies that address educational needs. The Division shapes and supports the industry by providing leadership, advocacy, business development opportunities and critical market information. SIIA provides a neutral business forum for its members to understand business models,
technological advancements, market trends, and best practices. With the leadership of the Division Board and collaborative efforts with educators and other stakeholders, the Division undertakes initiatives to enhance the use of educational technology and the success of SIIA members.
